Principal’s Message

January 9, 2019

Dear Parents,

Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas break, filled with special times and memories.
We have settled back into our usual routines as we begin the 2019 portion of this school year. The next few months will focus on the usual curriculum studies, speeches, sports events and more. Term one report cards will be sent home on February 22nd. Parents are reminded that there are no formal interviews for this set of report cards. However, parents are encouraged to call their child's teacher(s) should you have any questions or concerns about your child's progress. Be sure to celebrate your child's progress and review any suggested areas for improvement/next steps with your child as well. An ongoing and successful partnership between home and school has a positive influence on the success of our students!

A few reminders for the New Year:
1. Students should not be on the school playground prior to 8:40 a.m., as there is no supervision on the yard until that time.
2. Please use the School Safe Arrival line ( 519 353-5691 ext. 100) when you call to report your child's absence.
3. On days when buses are cancelled please note the following:
-We assume students who ride the buses will not be attending school on that day. If you choose to drive your child(ren) to school, please let the office know upon arrival so we know they are in      the building. It is also the parent's responsibility to pick their child(ren) up at the end of the school day (3:10 p.m.).
-If your child(ren) is not a bus student, and you choose to keep them at home, please be sure to call the Safe Arrival line to let the school know they will not be coming to school on that day. As
always, it is very important that we know where all of our students are. If we have not heard from you we will call regarding the location of your child(ren). We appreciate your co-operation with
     this important matter.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, free free to contact me at the school.

Volunteers are extremely important members of our school community.  We have been blessed with many people within our school community who volunteer at our school on a regular basis for countless activities. If you are interested in helping us out, please give the school a call at (519) 353-5691 so we can get you a volunteer package. Volunteers need to have a criminal background check and vulnerable sector check completed. Thanks so much for considering this very important role.
